DailyECPR : Puppies, Kittens and Transports, OH MY!

Hello everyone, and welcome to the very first ECPR BLOG POST! Awe come on, aren’t you excited?? I know I am! If you feel your heart warm every time an animal once in a sad situation gets his or her happily ever after by finding a forever home, you’ve come to the right place. If you love ECPR, what we stand for and what we do, you’ve come to the right place. If you’re on the look-out for a new forever furry friend, you’re in the right place. If you are interested in constant information, resources and updates about pet care, the rescue effort, activism and more, you’re in the right place.

What happened today at ECPR?
With kitten season still in full force, we are pulling in kitten after kitten but the good news is that they are finding purr-fect homes just as fast! Little babies Brienn and Tyler had their home checks today and are most likely spending their evenings exploring their new territories. Congrats, you two crazy felines! We will miss you but we know you are in good paws – er, hands.
Guess what else happened? A HUGE GROUND TRANSPORT! For any and all of you that can’t get enough of tiny puppy and kitty faces (myself being one of those people) its like stepping into heaven! So many tiny precious faces have arrived that will be up for adoption in the Seattle area in the near future. In the meantime, check out this video of some precious little Puppies!!

IMG_20150903_160731We proudly introduce to the world Miss Merida (yes, like Brave!) and her five precious little souls. We think Merida looks just like the perfect mix of our adoptable pup Madonna and one of our other small terrier mama dogs, Karma, who will be up for adoption as soon as her three pups are ready to be weaned. (They will be up for adoption soon, too!) She is sweet as can be and the pups are simply to die for! Look at those floppy ears, those curious eyes and how good they already are at standing on two legs! Don’t you just want to take them home and cuddle them forever and ever and ever?
(If you do, be patient because they will be up for adoption soon!!!) Okay, I’ll be honest. The real reason I keep mentioning that they will be adoptable is because if you don’t come and snatch these puppies when they are ready, I might not be able to resist taking them home myself! But I’m trying not to be greedy and cave for every precious face that we rescue… if I did that, they would all become my own only moments after they arrive!

What happens immediately after rescued animals arrive from transport? First, they visit our awesome veterinary affiliates in West Seattle; West Seattle Animal Hospital, Greentree or VCA. We just want to make sure they are healthy and ready to join the pack! When the vets give the “go-ahead,” and provided we have the space (that depends on all of you awesome people to keep adopting furr-ever friends of your very own!) we pick them and bring them to our facility out here in SoDo, Seattle WA. They are then considered “adoptable!”

Warning : with so many new, precious baby-faces about to join us, you might find yourself having a cuteness-attack. Symptoms include the desperate craving to snuggle a critter in your arms, the inability to stop an “Awwww!” from squeaking out of your throat, and sometimes in the most severe cases, a tear or two streaming down your cheek. Do not fret, there is a cure! Simply call or stop by our facility and schedule a meet and greet with one of our furry little buddies to see if you and that buddy would have the chance to become furr-ever friends. Why limit your snuggles, after all? With your very own cuddle-bug, your symptoms of “cuteness-overload” should be more manageable because you will get your fill and more every single day. What is better than unconditional love?

That’s all for today ladies and gents, let’s head for this weekend with a running start!
