DailyECPR : Spotlight on a True Sweetie Pie

A-sweetieAlthough today is not an official “pittie appreciation day” I wanted to bring a special dog to the public’s attention. This dog lights up every single room she occupies. When you approach her, her sweet boxy head tilts to the side. Her eyes widen with a hopeful glint. Her tail starts to wag. I can’t be positive, but I’m fairy certain that if she could speak, Sweetie Pie would be saying, “Hi. Hello. Play? Pet? Love me??” She is a pittie, and honestly one of the sweetest dogs I know. Sweetie pie loves adults, teenagers, children and even babies. Her patience is something we can all admire and learn from. She often comes with us to events, and a few weeks back a one year old baby was climbing all over her and this precious soul just laid on the ground as calm as could be, completely unbothered by this curious little human.

Sweetie Pie’s background isn’t nearly as bright as her personality. On her head there are many scars, and we believe that she was probably used as a bait dog in the awful pittie fighting trade. To have come from an obviously painful background and to still be such a calm, sweet delight is truly a gift; Sweetie is the gift that keeps on giving. For all of the unfair, inaccurate and negative hype that the media tries to spin on pit-bulls, Sweetie defies every single one of those accusations and really shows with her love, trust, playful nature, patience and loyalty how amazing pitties really are. Playing is what Sweetie Pie LIVES for. The moment she sees a toy, her whole body comes alive and she can focus on nothing else. If we let her, she would play catch for twelve hours straight non-stop. She views toys as a way to engage with and bond with humans. After a day of catch, she just wants to be by your side as you go about your evening.

Although all of us here at ECPR love her dearly and enjoy interacting with her every day, this sensational gal really deserves a permanent, loving home with a family who wants a dog as perfect as the summer days are long. If you are looking for an amazing dog like this, or if you know someone that would be delighted to have her in their life, please give us a call at 206 557 4661 and schedule a meet and greet with her. Every dog that comes through these doors is so deserving of a forever home, but this girl has a very special place in my heart and the day she finds her perfect match will be the day I will probably shed a few tears of happiness for her. She is so¬†deserving of a ‘Happily Ever After’ and I hope we can all help her find it.
