January Providence House Senior Center Visit – Adoptable Dogs Cecily and Laverne Receive Lots of Love!

IMG_5243.jpgWow, it’s 2019 already? Where does the time go?

Here at Emerald City Pet Rescue, we’re very excited to help more pets find forever homes. We brought two rescues with us to our monthly visit to Providence House Senior Center in downtown Seattle today, Cecily, and Laverne! Cecily does not currently have a public adoption profile because unfortunately, she has cancer, but she is still looking for a “fospice” situation so that she can spend her final days in the comfort of a loving home. If you are interested in fostering Cecily, (all medical expenses are paid for by ECPR), please visit our website at http://www.emeraldcitypetrescue.org and fill out a foster survey.

Cecily very much enjoyed visiting with some new people! She is small and very sweet, happy to receive human attention, and content to hang out on laps.

IMG_5260.jpg Laverne is an older chihuahua at eleven, but she is just as wonderful and loving as Cecily. She enjoys getting her ears scratched, hanging out on the couch with you, and receiving treats. She would be a wonderful Netflix or Hulu binge partner! If you’re interested in adopting her, give us call at 206 557 4661.

We love opportunities to bring our wonderful rescue dogs out into the public to meet and interact with people. They bring so much joy to everyone who meets them!

Critter Connections!

Here at Emerald City Pet Rescue, we love our adoptable cats and dogs more than life itself! Awareness about the importance of rescue is spreading.

Every few months, we do an event here at the rescue called “Critter Connections” and we invite people to stop by so that they can meet and interact with our adoptable critters! (Other animals besides cats and dogs that are seeking forever homes.) Our adoptable critters include, but are not limited to, bunnies, guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, and hedgehogs.

We had a great event last Saturday with our adoptable bunnies! Lots of people stopped by and met with our furry, hoppy, friends. Our knowledgeable staff was also on hand to answer any critter-related questions people may have had.

If you are interested in meeting our adoptable critters, or if you’re interested in learning more about their care, keep an eye on our social media for the next time we set up a Critter Connections event!

Can’t wait that long? Don’t forget to also keep an eye on our website for currently available critters at http://www.emeraldcitypetrescue.org
Feel free to give us a call at any time if you’re interested in meeting them! 206 557 4661

January Dog of the Month – Skylar!

skylar_PF1.jpgOur Pets of the Month are often animals that have been in our rescue for a long time, still searching for their forever home. Have you met the ADORABLE Mister Skylar? He’s a six-year-old, 17lb Yorkie mix with a BIG personality!

This energetic guy is super smart! He’s mastered tricks such as “sit”, “down”, and “high five” but he can’t wait for his new family to teach him even more! We’re not kidding, this guy LOVES to get his learn on! He’s all about one-on-one time with his favorite humans and snacking on stinky treats.

Skylar loves to run, or as we call it, “do zoomies” where he darts back and forth with his tongue out and a goofy grin on his silly face. Belly rubs are also one of his favorite things once he gets to know and trust you!

Skylar is looking for a home that can provide him with lots of physical and mental stimulation. He’s got no beef with cats, but he would do best as the only dog. Trust us, he’s got enough love, curiosity, and energy to keep his family entertained all by himself!

If this guy sounds like he may be just what you’re looking for, give us a call at 206 557 4661.

ECPR Visits Providence House for Paw-liday Party!

BL1.jpg For the past year and a half, Emerald City Pet Rescue pays a monthly visit to Providence Vincent House (Senior Center) near Pike Place Market. We take a few rescue pets with us each time that we feel will do well in that environment, and today, we brought Benji and Lizzie,  a bonded pair of adorable, adoptable senior dachshunds who are excited to find their forever home soon! They were a hit! They wore ADORABLE Holiday sweaters, they visited with all of the seniors, and they received lots of treats and snuggles. Our ambassador pups, Peaches, Lily, and Scout were also charmers as usual.

P5.jpg This year, Providence House decorated their event room for the Paw-lidays, and they took up a collection among their residents to provide us with donation money as well as some toys for the pups! We are so grateful for their support! Events like these are pure positivity for the seniors, and it brings us joy as well to be able to share the happiness of our wonderful rescue animals with others.

A special shout-out and Thank You goes out to Providence House for the kind and wonderful donations, you all really brightened our day! We look forward to continuing our monthly visits with you all in 2019!

Roller Derby Donates to ECPR!

Last Saturday, December 15th, 2018, the Tilted Thunder Rail Birds Roller Derby had a Bout in Monroe, Washington. One of our ECPR employees, Animal Caregiver Dom is on the derby team and arranged for a fundraiser to help our pets! People brought in beds, blankets, toys, and other items to help keep the pups healthy, warm and happy during this rainy winter season.

We were able to be there as well with a few ambassador pups to help represent the rescue and bring some smiles to the faces of the competitors as well as their friends and family.

We want to express our gratitude to everyone who donated, we very much appreciate all of the awesome donations, and we know the animals appreciate them, too!

November Providence Vincent House Visit

P4.jpgHere at Emerald City Pet Rescue, we love being a part of our community and sharing our adoptable pets, as well as ambassador dogs, with our awesome Seattle friends and neighbors! Not only does it bring joy to the people who come to interact with rescue dogs, but it also gives the dogs a fun social outing and the opportunity to interact with new people in a new setting.

We visit Providence Vincent House Senior Center monthly. Lily and Peaches, to ECPR ambassador dogs, enjoy giving cuddles and kisses to every new person they meet!

Biscuit and Cecily, current ECPR rescues, also joined us today at Providence and they both thoroughly enjoyed the attention and snuggles! They are such sweet little souls and sometimes the extra attention can do so much to lift our animals’ spirits. We’re so grateful!

Special thanks to Providence House for having us as visitors on a monthly basis, it’s such a fun enriching experience for both humans and furry friends alike!
