Meet Luke, one of our new rescue arrivals! This one year old rabbit is jumping with excitement to start the search for his forever home in the Seattle area. Luke found his way to our rescue after a good samaritan took him after being abandoned outside, but she could no longer care for him. During his time there, Luke did beautifully with the older children, cat, and dog in the home, so Luke is a great roommate to have! Already a kennel favorite, Luke is about as handsome as they get, with a sparkling personality to match. Described as a very friendly, social bunny, Luke loves getting affectionate attention from people and hopping around indoors where he can explore his surroundings safely. If you have previous bunny ownership experience and are looking for a lovely new addition to your critter clan, look no further than Luke!

Luke is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped. Please call 206-557-4661 for more information on Luke!

Update : DRAGON HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!! GO DRAGON, GO!

adopt-me Meet Dragon! This handsome three-year-old Holland Lop boy is excited to start the search for his forever home in the Seattle area. Dragon is not only as cute as they come in the looks department – he is also one of the friendliest, most social bunnies we have ever met!

While Dragon’s previous family could no longer keep him due to allergies, they could not say better things about his personality. In addition to being potty trained, Dragon is described as being an outgoing, affectionate, playful fellow who loves attention from humans! The only things Dragon loves more than toys and being cuddled are yummy treats like kale, parsley, and cilantro, which makes him easy to please. Fans of fluffy, friendly bunnies will surely fall in love with Dragon just like we have!

Dragon is fully vetted, neutered and microchipped. Please call 206-557-4661 for more information on Dragon!

Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday!

Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving, and who deserves contributions more than wonderful rescue pets?

Emerald City Pet Rescue, although still a new organization officially launched in 2013, is growing fast! Our motto is “Love Can Save Lives” and we strive to give each animal we rescue and rehome all the love and care they deserve, and more.

For this Giving Tuesday, we want to introduce you to one of the many pups near and dear to our heart that has come upon us, a sweet-as-pie Pitbull named Sweetie Pie!

Sweetie Pie was found as a stray, wandering the streets. She was thin, covered in scars, and we suspected she had been the mother to a litter of puppies in her recent past.

Despite the vague story that Sweetie Pie’s health could tell us, never have we met a dog more loving and kind. Her eyes are filled with hope and wisdom beyond her years, and when she raises her head and looks up at you with her tail softly wagging, you can’t help but reach down and give her a little hug.

At Emerald City Pet Rescue, the health of our rescue pets is our top priority. Sweetie Pie came with challenges that weren’t visible to the naked eye upon being taken in by us, but that didn’t scare us any more than it scared her! Sweetie Pie needed two ACL surgeries to repair her knees, and if that wasn’t difficult enough, she then developed tumors which turned out to be cancerous and had to withstand chemotherapy! What amazed us beyond belief was that no amount of pain or struggle dampened her spirits for a single moment. The moment she’d return from a surgery or a vet visit, even when she was supposed to be on bedrest all she wanted to do was play. We can’t fathom where she found her energy and optimism! Sweetie Pie was a rare, precious gem that brightened each day she was here at the rescue with us.

We are so happy to conclude that after all the hardships that Sweetie Pie endured, she finally found the happy ending she deserved a hundred times over. A wonderful couple adopted her and now she spends her days playing with giant sticks (HER FAVORITE!) and running along the beach with the wind in her face. It fills our hearts with joy knowing that we were able help her along on her long, difficult journey to happiness, and we wouldn’t have been able to help her without amazing, generous support from the surrounding community.

This Giving Tuesday, please consider donating to Emerald City Pet Rescue. Your generous donation will enable us to help more dogs like Sweetie Pie on their own journeys toward the forever happy homes we know are out there waiting to find them.

DONATE HERE to help more pets like Sweetie Pie find their happy endings!
